The recent Chesterfield FC fixture at home to Maidenhead turned out to be a memorable one for all of the right reasons for the Community Trust’s Flag Bearers. The group of juniors proudly waving the Spireites badge came from our Pan-Disability Football Session, a weekly session aimed at inclusivity and fun, which runs for U16’s on a Friday evening at St Mary’s Catholic High School, from 7-8.

The participants were rewarded for their commitment to having fun during sessions with a trip down to the Proact Stadium, for not just a tour of the ground, but to stand on the pitch as the teams walked out, proudly showing their support for the team.

Joe, a regular attendee on a Friday night said, “I have had a great time, I got to run around on the pitch and be right in the middle when the teams walked out. It’s been really fun”. Adam Guirdham who coaches the session said, “It is a fantastic session to be involved in. The kids just have so much enthusiasm for playing football and make every session a pleasure to coach. The pictures from flag bearing this evening tell their own story, it’s a great group that have had a great time”.
