Alex Burton

Name: Alex Burton

Project that they engage with: Spireites Saturday Soccer School and Emerging Talent Centre

Alex first got involved with the Community Trust when attending the Spireites Satuday Soccer School.

Despite never having played grassroots football, Alex had excellent technical ability and love of the game.

In June, the Trust launched the Emerging Talent Centre, Alex was invited along to the trials taking place at the Proact Stadium. During the trials, Alex immediately impressed the ETC and Academy staff watching.

Alex was offered a place with the ETC and continued to impress with his raw technical ability and positive attitude with the game.

After just three months with the ETC programme, Alex was offered a trial with the clubs academy system. After a six week trial period, he was given the news that he had been successful and was offered a place in the academy system.

ETC Manager, Steve Hancock said, “Alex has been a pleasure to work with during his time with the ETC. He possesses lots of natural ability, and his time at Saturday Soccer School gave him a platform to develop his skill. I believe with the continued level of coaching, he will have a very bright future in the game.”
