Chesterfield FC players Josh Kay and Jacob Brown visited pupils at Staveley Junior School last Monday, March 5. The purpose of their visit was to talk to the pupils about the importance of eating healthy and what it’s like to be a professional footballer.

The players spoke about how they got into football, speaking about influences such as parents or school friends as well as being asked how often they exercise.

Josh and Jacob were also asked about what meal they would eat before a match. The players told the students that they like to eat lots of carbohydrates and proteins to give them energy during the game.

Jacob added onto this by saying, “I don’t personally like fruit, but I always make sure I have quite a few on the side of my meals. This keeps me healthy and fit.”

The children also had great fun coming up with goal celebrations for the players. The students suggested moves like ‘The Worm’ and ‘Dabbing whilst Knee Sliding’.
